Thankful Thursday…

...Part 6

A little throwback to J at about 5 months :)

It’s Thankful Thursday!!!!

May be you don’t know but I’m big on Gratitude – that’s why I started this series a while ago as a reminder to focus on what we have rather than what we don’t have.

It could be anything…. Basic stuff, not so basic stuff lol so today:

I am Thankful that I now truly understand what unconditional Love is. My heart feels like it could burst from the abundance of love I have for J. Not just any kind of love; a love so powerful that it can give you superhuman strength. It’s the kind of love that knows no limits or bounds. It’s a love that cannot be broken and will never, ever fade.

throwback to J hanging with my friends and I - afternon Tea :)

Being a mom has caused me to redefine my priorities. Family has become more important to me than absolutely anything else in the world; my spiritual life has extremely developed, I’ve become a happier and more balanced person, and I’ve discovered things about myself that were buried somewhere deep inside.

I am Thankful that motherhood continually tests my patience and simultaneously helps me discover my creativity.

I’m Thankful that although ALL my (6) brothers and I live in 2 different cities, we all still remain just as close as if they were nearby.

I am extremely Thankful for my Non-Mom Friends. You have distracted me from the sometimes boring details of motherhood. Thank you for not caring about sleep training and potty-training!!!! And thank you for still staying friends with me even though my life may seem terribly boring and my schedule sometimes doesn’t permit me to do the fun impulsive stuff – like a girls-only holiday lol.

And to conclude, I’m grateful for the Grace to be content with what I have… the little things that keep me sane and happy. I’ve realised that material things don’t add to my happiness. I’m never impressed by material things; i love nice things (don’t get it twisted lol) and i know we are extremely blessed to be where we are at this stage in our lives, but it’s just not what REALLY makes me happy. For me, it is GOOD HEALTH, FAMILY and a few good FRIENDS.

I admit I am one of those who sometimes forget to appreciate what I have, the little I have. But I have recognized this, even in others. So I am trying to change it; because if you don’t express what you are thankful for — in your own private moments, it is very hard to be happy.

So let’s start with appreciating the Big Little things on Thankful Thursdays!!!

What are you thankful for??

Love & Light,

Mrs O

  1. Wow… it’s hard at this moment to be thankful for anything especially when you are going through a phase that doesn’t just seem to end or there’s no light at the end of the tunnel.. Nigeria has been become a bedrock for frustration.. from joblessness, to fuel scarcity, to no power.. well I’ve decided to let Go and let God… but all in all i’m thankful for life for once there’s life there’s hope. Xoxoxo
